I would say I have a pretty "typical" story. I say typical but it's very different from what I typically hear and see. I grew up in a small town - Poplar Bluff, MO. I was a 3 sport athlete growing up. I played baseball, basketball, and golf. Until I reached the high school level where I stuck to golf and basketball. I felt like a was a healthy kid but looking back at those times I was pretty sick. I can't remember a time that I didn't have some kind of stomach ache or canker sore. I wasn't over weight though. If anything I was "under weight". I can remember going to the doctor (the MD version) often. That's just what we did back then. It seemed like anytime my brother or I were sick, ran a fever, or had a tummy issue, we were carted off to see the doctor. And this was a doctor that sat across the desk from my mom and I with a lit cigarette in his hand telling my mom what was wrong with me and what medication I needed to be on. Boy have I learned a lot since those times.
It wasn't until years later in my 20s did I started to realize the amazing healing power of my body. I was so turned off by the medical model of health care and thought "there has to be a better way."
This thought process led me to pursue a different career path. I was already working in I.T. but felt called to help others find true health. I chose Chiropractic as my vehicle and it has truly been a calling and a blessing. Through chiropractic I have been able to help people, just like me, achieve greater health and healing, all while doing it on "my terms".
My drive now is to educate as many people as I can about the pillars of health: Alignment/Movement, Nutrition, Attitude Health, Rest and Recovery.
When I'm not in the office my passions are family, nutrition, cycling, and crossfit or just throwing weights around the gym.
